PAU Library Resource Policies for Alumni

On-Campus Access

Alumni are welcome to use the PAU Library in person at the Allen Calvin Campus during its regular hours of operation with no associated fees. Guest Wi-Fi access is available for using the PAU Library’s electronic resources while on-site at any PAU campus.

Books and DVDs may be checked out according to our circulation policies, which for alumni exclude psychological test manuals and materials reserved for classes. Fines will be charged for the replacement cost of any lost or damaged items. Alumni library privileges will be suspended in cases of unpaid bills and/or excessive overdue items.

Off-Campus Access

Alumni may freely explore our website, utilize our library guides, and search the library catalog to support their research from anywhere, at any time. However, due to copyright and licensing restrictions, the following library resources are not available to alumni:

  • Remote access to our research databases.
  • Remote access to our subscription-based electronic content, including eJournals and eBooks.

Note: Limited alumni access to PAU Library journal articles may be available through PAU Librarians. Please contact the librarians for more information.

Resource Requests

Interlibrary loan (ILL) and requests for items to be added to the library collection are only allowed for current students, faculty, and staff.

Alternative Information Sources

Alumni may use Google Scholar as well as the other academic search platforms linked below to locate freely available information resources online. Registration for a free account may be required for search access.

Alumni may also contact their local public library for assistance with locating library materials that are not available through the PAU Library.

Additionally, some colleges and universities (including Stanford University) offer visitor access to the general public.

Some professional organizations offer member discounts on information resources, which our alumni may find beneficial. Members of the American Psychological Association are eligible to purchase individual access to APA's suite of databases for an annual fee.

Additional resources may be available to PAU alumni through the Department of Alumni Relations. Please refer to the PAU Alumni Association website or contact Alumni Relations via email to alumnirelations@paloaltou.edu for more information.
