MS in Psychology

The Master of Science in Psychology is designed to prepare students for careers in teaching, research, and related business and nonprofit fields. With a choice of four tracks, students can select the coursework that best prepares them for their future goals. Students in the Tech and Mental Health, Generalist, and Forensic concentrations prepare for jobs that require master's level training in psychology, research, and human behavior. Students in the PhD Prep Concentration may apply to transition to PAU's PhD in Clinical Psychology program. This part-time degree is offered entirely online to keep program costs low and allow students to complete the program without the need to relocate.

MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Our Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program prepares students for successful completion of professional counselor licensing exams and certification, and to enter the workforce as highly skilled, culturally responsive practitioners. The program is approved by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Program (CACREP) to meet rigorous standards of quality for both the MFT and LPCC areas of study. Students may attend online or through a hybrid format.

PhD in Clinical Psychology

Our PhD in Clinical Psychology is a five-year, full-time doctoral program offered through a traditional on-campus learning experience. Accredited by the American Psychological Association, we use a practitioner-scientist training model to cover all aspects of psychological theory, research, and practice. Students can choose from seven areas of emphasis to create a more focused learning experience and prepare for specialized careers as board-certified clinicians.

PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium

We also offer the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium in collaboration with Stanford University for students interested in building a career in direct clinical psychological services. The curriculum focuses on evidence-based clinical psychology and covers topics in research, ethical standards, intervention, and assessment. Upon completion of the five-year, on-campus program, graduates will be prepared to work in mental health centers, schools, hospitals, and other healthcare settings.

BS in Psychology and Social Action

This program is ideal for students with a passion for community advocacy and outreach. The curriculum includes classes in psychology, sociology, anthropology, philosophy, and economics, and students complete a nine-month internship to gain real-world experiences. Graduates can find roles at nonprofits and community agencies or prepare for graduate programs in psychology.

BS in Business Psychology

This program combines strategic business practices with the study of psychology and social sciences. Students will develop a keen understanding of human behavior, motivation, and group processes, and learn how to apply that knowledge in a professional setting. Graduates will prepare for careers in sales and marketing, human resources, and management.
