Biography:

Leila N. Wallach (she/her/ella) is a clinical psychology doctoral candidate at PAU. Leila has been an adjunct instructor at PAU in the undergraduate Psychology and masters level departments since 2023, teaching a range of classes. She received her MS in Clinical Psychology from PAU in 2022, her MA in General Psychology at New York University in 2019, and her BA in Psychology (minor Criminology) from Simon Fraser University in 2015. A first-gen daughter of mixed Afro-Latina & Jewish immigrants, Leila is passionate about promoting decoloniality in academia and mental health. Her research and clinical interests focus on racial justice in the criminal legal system, and culturally-responsive practice and policy. Leila is a bilingual clinician (Spanish and English) and has completed practicum placements at La ClĂ­nica Latina at the Gronowski Center, UCSF Citywide Forensics, and San Quentin State Prison. She will be completing her predoctoral internship at Oregon State Hospital for the 2024-2025 year. Prior to her graduate studies, Leila spent several years as a community mental health and addictions case manager in Vancouver, Canada.
