Biography:

Andrew hails from the East Coast and earned his Master of Library and Information Science (MS) from Simmons University in 2013. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Communication from Keene State College in 2010, and has also focused on gender studies, queer theory, philosophy, and English literature.

He is the current Reference and Instruction Librarian at Palo Alto University’s Omar Seddiqui Research Library, and his previous liaison areas include Anthropology, Social Work, Criminal Justice and Criminology, and Kinesiology. Andrew’s academic interests span across the disciplines, with a particular focus on queer identity formation and its relationship with technology.

Over the years, Andrew has had the opportunity to volunteer and work in a myriad of archives, public libraries, and academic institutions, all of which have informed his approach to librarianship and disseminating knowledge. If you were to ask him what his philosophy of librarianship was, he’d probably tell you it was about increasing well being and strengthening the bonds of its community; his most recent project with the Academic Libraries of Indiana concerning available resources for Afghan refugees showcases these qualities: https://library.ivytech.edu/ali/refugeeresources/home.

Andrew grew up in Methuen, Massachusetts and is new to the Bay Area, you should say hi to him.
