New Advanced Training Program for Mental Health Professionals on Integrated Behavioral Health

Palo Alto University's Division of Continuing and Professional Studies Offers 10-Program Subscription Beginning January 11, 2023

(Palo Alto, CA – 12/7/22) – A new advanced training program for mental health professionals focusing on Integrated Behavioral Health  (IBH) is available from Palo Alto University’s Continuing and Professional Studies Division (CONCEPT).  The 10-part, 10 Continuing Education (CE) credit-earning subscription series offers a variety of topics within IBH relevant to psychologists, counselors, social workers, and more. The first program begins January 11, 2023 and is available for purchase until December 30, 2022.  Participants can choose between live or on-demand for all included programs.

The programs are presented by Palo Alto University professor Jerrod Brown, PhD a trainer, researcher, and consultant with multiple years of experience teaching collegiate courses. Jerrod has also been employed with Pathways Counseling Center, Inc. in St. Paul, Minnesota, for the past eighteen years. Pathways provide programs and services benefiting individuals impacted by mental illness and addictions.

“Integrated behavioral health is a type of whole-person care, focusing on the interconnections between the body, mind, and physical actions,” says Jerrod Brown, PhD.  “Because clients with mental health problems often suffer from co-occurring physical health issues, providing services through an integrated behavioral health lens may result improved outcomes.”

Historically, Palo Alto University continuing education programs have been focused primarily on specialty areas of psychology, but the CONCEPT Division has begun to curate premium programs for counselors and other mental health professionals as well.
