The PAU-Stanford PsyD Consortium is a practitioner-scholar program intended for those seeking careers devoted to the direct delivery of clinical psychological services. The program provides a generalist education in clinical psychology, emphasizing evidenced-based practice. The priority we assign to evidence-based practice is matched by our commitment to promote students’ broad and general understanding of science and to foster students’ ability to critically evaluate scientific theories, methods, and conclusions.
Palo Alto University (PAU), a private, non-profit university located in the heart of Northern California’s Silicon Valley, is dedicated to addressing pressing and emerging issues and specializing in Behavioral Health to equitably meet the needs of today’s diverse communities.
As a university dedicated to the study and practice of psychology and counseling, we are especially attuned to the challenges and consequences of experiencing trauma, and to teaching our students the importance of providing a safe and compassionate space for those in need. And, as an institution committed to making a difference in the world, we understand the importance of civic engagement.
"During my training in the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium, I learned not only how to be an excellent clinician, but how to critically evaluate research and develop programs to meet the needs of my patients and my organization. This training served me well in my role as a Postdoctoral Residency Training Director, and will continue to do so in my role as a manager." - Jennifer B. MacLearmy, Ph.D.
