Financial Support Information for PAU Students

03-17-2020   Dear Students:   A lot of questions have come up around student financial concerns during this challenging time.  I am writing today to let you know of some measures the university is taking to respond to this.  Detailed plans and processes are still being developed, but students can expect the following:
  • If you are a student who has financial aid and you find yourself in a different place financially now than when you applied for financial aid, please reach out to the Financial Aid office to see if you qualify for any additional financial aid funding.  You can reach them at financialaid@paloaltou.edu to set up a zoom appointment.
  • All student employees of the university (including Federal Work Study) will continue to get paid for their university jobs, even if they are unable to perform their currently assigned duties.  Whether it is in your current role or in another, students can count on their current level of university related work income through the end of the spring quarter.
  • If you have an immediate need, PAU has always offered emergency loans of up to $1,000, and we continue to do so now.  Please contact Anna Lisitsa at administrativehotline@paloaltou.edu for additional information and/or to apply for an emergency loan.
Finally, PAU is actively looking into additional funding for those students who are in dire financial circumstances as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.  We are in the initial planning stages, and will share more information when it is available.   If you have any questions, please let me know.   Sincerely,

Thom Shepard, M.Ed.
