A Message from President Maureen O'Connor - Fall 2020 Plan

PAU’s amazing faculty and staff have been working energetically and with strong commitment to excellence to prepare for the new academic year.  In a time of great uncertainty and personal and professional challenge, we came together as a community to develop the Fall Planning Task Force plan, based on a variety of factors, with the health and safety of our community at the forefront.  The Task Force Report, announced on July 13, outlines our process and recommendations. While subject to change, I am happy to report we have outlined a ‘Hi-Flex Model’ of teaching and learning that adheres to public health guidelines, as well as our high standards for educating PAU students.    In these challenging times, I have taken comfort in the inspirational legacy and forward-focused perspective of Congressman John Lewis. In his posthumously published letter to a new generation, he urged us to “ walk with the wind, brothers and sisters, and let the spirit of peace and the power of everlasting love be your guide.” I hope you can all find some solace in his indomitable spirit and know that if we all work together with love and respect, we will get through the multiple challenges we face and move our students toward their futures – the world needs them now more than ever!   Click here to read the full Fall Planning Task Force report July 13, 2020: https://www.paloaltou.edu/fall-planning-task-force-report-july-13-2020.
