Biography:

Dr. Soo-Hoo completed his PhD in clinical psychology at the University of California, Berkeley.  He is currently a professor at the California State University East Bay in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program.  Prior to university teaching he devoted over twenty years working in Community Mental Health in San Francisco working with a diverse range of people with many different psychological problems.  He has published on multi-cultural issues in psychotherapy and consultation, and the application of a Strength Based Culturally Informed Integrative Approach to psychotherapy and consultation. In addition, he has special interests in the area of innovative culturally relevant approaches to psychotherapy.  He has also provided extensive training and consultation on these topics to agencies and other professionals.

Areas of Interest:

Multicultural Counseling, Family Therapy, Couples Therapy, Innovative Culturally Relevant Therapies.
