"Make Your Home Among Strangers" Synopsis

A novel based loosely on the author's own experience of being a LatinX first-generation college student. It illuminates issues related to culture, socioeconomic status, young adult development, and diversity in higher education.

PAU Common Book Initiative

Last summer PAU announced a new "common book" initiative for reading and discussion for the entire university. Common books are increasingly offered in higher education as a way to build community, spark discussions and provide a springboard for faculty, students, and staff to engage with new ideas and perspectives. Although Palo Alto University's focus is on education in psychology and counseling, we believe that literature and other forms of artistic expression have the potential to enhance and deepen our understanding of these issues beyond what we can learn from reading textbooks and academic articles.

The PAU library has purchased several copies for the PAU community to borrow.
