Jerrod Brown, PhD, presents a live professional training program on Behavioral Health Aspects of Resilience.

Resilience is the capacity to adapt and thrive when experiencing adversity or distress. An individual’s level of resilience is influenced by several individual (e.g., temperament), social (e.g., family connectedness), biological (e.g., genetics), and environmental-level (e.g., traumatic experiences) factors.

Designed for professionals, this training introduces attendees to the concept of resilience and highlights how this capacity can be strengthened and the impact lower levels of resilience have on mood, behavior, cognition, physical health, and criminality. Relevant topics discussed during this training will include gratitude, optimism, social isolation, positive psychology, grit, post-traumatic growth, co-occurring psychopathology, trauma, and toxic stress, to name a few. Empirically based research findings will be highlighted throughout this training.
