The Society of Clinical Psychology’s Education & Training Committee presented the 2009 recipient of the Distinguished Student Service Award in Clinical Psychology to Ms. Malique Lina Carr of the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology. The Distinguished Student Service Award in Clinical Psychology honors a graduate student in clinical psychology who has engaged in outstanding service contributions to the profession and community.

Dr. Carr graduated with honors from Palo Alto University in 2010.

Rob Blinn graduated from Palo Alto University’s PhD program in 1996. During his internship at the National Asian American Psychology Training Center in San Francisco he worked at the Hunan Medical University in Changsha, Hunan, China.

Many years before Nike launched its famous tag line, “Just Do It,” Diane Raleigh, Ph.D., co-founder and graduate of the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology (PGSP), now Palo Alto University, coined the phrase. This clinical psychologist doesn’t just talk the talk, she has walked the walk her entire life, and inspired countless others to do the same.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. To highlight the importance of work done on behalf of survivors of domestic violence, we spoke with PAU alumna Amanda Harris (née Feldman), J.D., Ph.D., a psychologist and attorney representing domestic violence survivors.

Harris received a PhD in clinical psychology from PAU in 2016. She obtained a law degree from Golden Gate University. She currently works for a New York City law firm.

How did you become interested in working with survivors of domestic violence?

Terell Sterling is the founder and CEO of Go Paladin a Silicon Valley nonprofit that connects underrepresented and underserved entrepreneurs to the vast startup ecosystem whose motto is “Entrepreneurship for Everyone.” Sterling’s comprehensive experience in entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation included work as a partner at the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, start-up RealScout, and working at a number of Fortune 500 high-tech companies including Apple, Tesla, and Oracle.
