10 Latinx Merit Scholarships to Support Spanish-speaking Students
Palo Alto University (PAU), Northern California’s leading school of psychology and counseling, is pleased to announce a generous gift that enables the creation of ten scholarships of $10,000 each for Spanish speaking, Latinx undergraduate students in the University’s BS in Psychology and Social Action program. PAU is also contributing to these scholarships with institutional funding.
Palo Alto, CA - The COVID-19 crisis spurred a rapid migration of mental health providers from in-person to online services. However, mental health providers conducting teletherapy are not currently required to be trained in telehealth and are operating without consistent uniform standards of practice.
Innovative Tech Collaboratory Aims to Increase Access to Mental Health Treatment
During commencement ceremonies on June 26, Palo Alto University (PAU) honored 273 graduates from its psychology and counseling programs prepared to address current mental health challenges through clinical practice and research. This number, however, doesn’t begin to address the nationwide shortage of mental health professionals, a shortage heightened by the coronavirus pandemic according to the National Council for Behavioral Health.
