Biography:

Dr Courtney Lockwood Murphy obtained her BA in Psychology at University of San Francisco and her MS and PhD in Clinical Psychology at Pacific Graduate School of Psychology, Palo Alto University. She completed the certificate program in Clinical Neuropsychology at PAU as well, specializing in neuropsychology in her academic and clinical work. She completed her externship training at the Palo Alto VA Healthcare System in the Psychological Assessment and Polytrauma services, her predoctoral internship training at the Baltimore VA and University of Maryland, and her postdoctoral fellowship training at the War Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC) at the Washington DC VA Medical Center. Her research positions include Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and 
the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC).

She is a licensed psychologist in the state of California and a neuropsychologist. She formerly served as the Assessment Service Coordinator at the Gronowski Center at Palo Alto University and currently is a neuropsychologist at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, as well as through her private practice.

Dr Lockwood Murphy has particular interest in brain-behavior relationships as a neuropsychologist and greatly enjoys teaching at PAU, as she is able to convey this passion to her students through classes emphasizing the core biological components of human thought and behavior as well as lifespan development. She is dedicated to assisting and mentoring students through their academic and clinical endeavors and is truly passionate about sharing neuropsychology to students.
