Through strategic partnerships with the surrounding community, Palo Alto University's (PAU) central location in the Silicon Valley provides opportunities for students to learn the psychological implications in the business environment locally and globally.

Programs Partnership: Through the PGSP - Psy.D. Stanford University Consortium program, students have the unique opportunity to learn from PAU faculty in addition to Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry.

In addition to PAU's partnership with Stanford University, PAU partners with three community colleges to offer convenient locations for Bachelor's and Master's degree programs:

Clinic Partnership: The Gronowski Center, a mental health clinic serving the Silicon Valley surrounding communities, offers students career experience and growth opportunities.

Internship/Practicum: Clinical practicum, a career-focused professional development course of employment or volunteerism is required in some Masters' programs, the Ph.D. Clinical Psychology program, and the PGSP - Psy.D. Stanford Consortium. Some examples of PAU practicum partners:

  • U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Palo Alto and San Francisco
  • Kaiser Permanente
  • Goodwill of Silicon Valley
  • Jail Psychiatric Services (San Francisco County)

For many PAU programs of study, an internship is required. PAU partners with many technology, mental health, community service, and business organizations to achieve the maximum career preparation for graduates. Some of the partners include:

  • Cisco
  • Proteus
  • Juniper Networks
  • Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families
  • Salvation Army
  • National Alliance of Mental Illness

Professional Development: Offering several opportunities for professional development for both PAU's students and community, partnerships are an integral part of PAU's formula for success. Professional development offerings at PAU include:

PAU also hosts a summer program in partnership with the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Mosbach, Germany in its commitment to encourage and develop global leadership.
