PAU ID Cards and COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility

February 22, 2021

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students, We hope you are continuing to stay healthy and safe as we progress through these challenging times. As you may haveheard in the recent news, the State of California has updated the COVID-19 vaccine eligibility schedule. Now, anyone falling into the Phase 1B category is now eligible to make an appointment to receive their vaccinations. Phase 1B includes Individuals 65 and older, and sector populations in the following industries: Agriculture and Food, Education and Childcare, and Emergency Services.

What this means is that PAU staff and faculty are now eligible for the vaccine, based upon availability in your area. i.e.beginning February 28, 2021, healthcare providers in Santa Clara County will expand vaccination to workers in the Phase1B industries. To sign up for the COVID-19 vaccination, you may visit myturn.ca.gov or call (833) 422-4255, or get notifiedwhen appointments are available in your area.

When you arrive at the vaccination site, or potentially when making your appointment depending upon each site's requirements, you will need to prove that you are an education professional. To aid with this endeavor, PAU will be providing university picture ID cards, upon request, to all faculty, staff, and students. The concept of university ID cards, from both a campus identity and a belonging perspective, has been a topic of conversation throughout PAU's strategic planning process and will fulfill the immediate requirement for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Please note the following for your respective PAU affiliation: Faculty & Staff IDs: PAU's Facilities Department is in the process of acquiring the necessary supplies toprocess the ID cards. Please be on the lookout for an email from the Business Affairs division next Wednesday,February 24th, which will contain instructions on how faculty and staff can submit their requests. All requests willbe validated by the Human Resources Department and printed/mailed out by the PAU Facilities Department on a rolling basis beginning early March. Student IDs: As previously announced, all PAU students can now request a student ID online. All requests will go to Jammela Ali, Administrative Assistant for Student Affairs. Jammela will process these requests, andprint/mail out the IDs to students on a rolling basis. Gronowski Center IDs: All members of the Gronowski Center staff (for the purpose of IDs, staff is defined asfaculty, staff, supervisors, student clinicians, etc.) can now request a Gronowski Center staff ID. This ID will note that Gronowski is a community mental health clinic. A separate request form has been created for these ID cards. To help facilitate the urgent need for these ID's due to requirements for the Covid vaccine, Jammela Ali will be working with Dr. Sandy Macias on processing these ID's on a rolling basis. Sandy will be sharing the Gronowski ID request form with all current clinic members who qualify to receive a staff ID.

Best wishes, The President's Office
