Palo Alto University Hosts Conference on Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity

Join us for a focused, two-day exploration of the latest research and clinical approaches to working with sexually and gender-diverse clients. The goal of Evidence-Based Advances for Work with Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity: Bridging Theory and Practice is to call attention to cutting-edge trends in working with this important and under-served population. Recent research has emphasized the impact of minority stress on emotion-regulation skills, and culturally competent therapies are rising to meet the challenge and better tailor interventions to meet the specific needs of sexually and gender-diverse clients. This conference will place specific emphasis on those therapeutic approaches that best focus on those needs, from the Unified Protocol to third-wave behavioral psychotherapies.

Invited speakers and trainers include leaders in the field such as lore m. dickey, Kimberly Balsam, John Pachankis, and Diane Ehrensaft.
