Palo Alto University Celebrates Legacy of Omar Seddiqui:
A Champion of Learning, Literacy and Libraries
May 15, 2018 – The life and legacy of Omar Seddiqui was celebrated today at the library that bears his name at Palo Alto University (PAU). Seddiqui, the former head of the Afghanistan public library system, died in September in San Jose at the age of 93. Before immigrating to the United States in 1982, Seddiqui spent more than two decades in Kabul, Afghanistan with the Ministry of Information and Culture. He was the Director and President of the National Archives and Public Library in his last 10 years at the Ministry.
