Welcome Dr. Maureen O’Connor as Palo Alto University’s third President

Please join us in warmly welcoming Dr. Maureen O’Connor as Palo Alto University’s third President. Dr. O’Connor succeeds Dr. Allen Calvin, who has served the university for over 30 years with tremendous success and will retire to enjoy more time with his family.

Dr. O’Connor, has been at the City University of New York (CUNY) in New York City for the last 18 years. She was the 2014 recipient of the New York State Psychological Association's Margaret Floy Washburn Mentoring award. “I am honored and excited to have been selected as the next President of Palo Alto University. Its commitment to diversity and its strategic focus on education anchored in psychology puts it in a unique and excellent position to make a difference in our students’ lives, in Silicon Valley, and beyond.”

Additionally, we congratulate Dr. O’Connor on her recent appointment by APA’s President, Susan H. McDaniel, as the Chair of the very relevant Task Force on Human Rights which will be responsible for providing strategic advice to the association in its engagement in the promotion and protection of human rights.

We are very proud that Dr. O’Connor is representing and promoting PAU in her leadership role in the APA and continuing our mission to Improve Lives in this task force.
