Humanist of the Year Award Received by PAU Director of Academic Services

Harrianne Mills, Director of Academic Services, received the Humanist of the Year Award from the Humanist Community of Silicon Valley. As humanists, the group teaches their children to appreciate the wonders of the natural world, and to develop an ethical code based on treating fellow human beings with kindness and respect.

At Palo Alto University (PAU), she serves on the Staff Council and is the editor of two PAU newsletters: Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) Newsletter and Global Mental Health Newsletter. Prior to joining PAU, Harrianne worked at two Stanford research centers (CIS and SCIL) and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. That was after teaching Classics (ancient Greek and Roman languages, history and literature) at Kenyon College in Ohio and excavating in Greece in the summers for many years. Harrianne received this honor for the work she does in leading the Silicon Valley Humanists Community Family Program.
