Mask Requirements at PAU
A supply of surgical face masks will be available in each Classroom, and also in the Facilities office on the Allen Calvin and the Mountain View campuses.
Classrooms:
Palo Alto University strongly encourages everyone to wear a face mask in all classrooms (except when speaking), regardless of vaccination status. This is to protect your health and safety as well as the health and safety of your classmates, instructor, and the university community.
If you feel you cannot wear a mask during class, please contact the Office of Accessible Education at oae@paloaltou.edu to request an individual assessment for services based upon the student’s expressed needs, the documentation presented, and the requirements under the law. This is an interactive process between the student and PAU. The OAE staff makes the final determination on eligibility for services and any reasonable accommodations that PAU may offer to the student.
Common Areas and Meeting Rooms:
Palo Alto University strongly encourages that all staff, faculty and students wear a face mask indoors and in crowded outdoor settings.
Gronowski Center:
For the Spring 2023 quarter, the Gronowski Center strongly encourages the use of face masks in therapy sessions. When meeting in-person for supervision and/or in group supervision all parties (supervisors and students must be comfortable and in agreement on if they will or will not wear a mask). For example, if the student or supervisor prefers to wear a mask, then both supervisor and student will wear a mask. The same will hold for group supervision, if one participant prefers masks, then everyone will wear a mask.
Practicum and Internship Sites:
Palo Alto University students, faculty, staff members and clients should follow the guidance as posted at each practicum/internship site.
