Karen Bronk Froming, Ph.D., ABPP-ABCN, is a board certified neuropsychologist, Adjunct Faculty at Palo Alto University and Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California in San Francisco where she is responsible for teaching clinical interviewing, differential diagnosis, case conceptualization, neuropsychological assessment, neuropsychology of trauma, and brief therapy. She supervises both Fellows in Clinical Psychology and Residents in Psychiatry.

Dr. Froming has developed the Comprehensive Affect Testing System (CATS), a computerized test of emotional process with a grant from the National Academy of Neuropsychology. Her collaborators were Drs. Sarah Schaffer, Paul Ekman and C. Michael Levy.

She has made many trips there studying the circumstances of the genocide and civil war as part of a longstanding interest in genocide and its precursors; and in performing and teaching self-help trauma symptom reduction techniques at the National University of Rwanda.  She, Dr. William Froming, and their team are developing practical training modules for developing partnership with other educational institutions and non-profits in Rwanda.
