Biography: 

As an instructor for PAU, Angel Roque focuses on providing his students with a better understanding of how culture and socially situated perspectives can structure cross-cultural encounters in clinical, advocacy, and everyday settings between mental health professionals and their clients.  He is currently a Doctoral candidate at Stanford for Anthropology. His dissertation research focuses on the intersection between gentrification and local understandings of race, class and urban citizenship in the Lakeshore neighborhoods of Chicago.  He has taught at DeAnza College, Stanford University, and UC Santa Cruz as well as PAU. Angel Roque is also an US army veteran.
