PAU'S Superstar Psychologists in Technology series returns Tuesday, February 16, featuring alumna Andrea Scott, Ph.D.  Dr. Scott is president and co-founder of Session Sync, a telehealth platform that connects patients and psychologists in private practice over secure, HIPAA compliant video sessions. Like many early career psychologists, Andrea was challenged by start-up costs, limited business knowledge, and concerns about the shortcomings of pre-existing telehealth platforms. As a result, she set out to design a private practice solution for clinicians at any stage of their career.
Now the largest telehealth platform exclusively for psychologists, Session Sync aims to expand mental health services, destigmatize care and create an experience that is more convenient, more cost-effective, and more inviting for both clinicians and patients alike. Andrea continues to participate in all aspects of business operations including policy development, fiscal decisions, marketing, outreach, and customer service. She is particularly proud of the diversity of psychologists represented on Session Sync, spanning various ages, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, theoretical orientations, and languages. In addition to her role as president of Session Sync, Andrea works as a staff psychologist and Director of Postdoctoral Training at VA Long Beach Healthcare System. She also treats patients in private practice via Session Sync.As a PAU alumna, Andrea is proud to be featured on the Superstar Psychologists in Technology Series and to offer a resource to the community where she got her startThis event is sponsored by Palo Alto University Research Groups: Barr Taylor, m2Health, Ricardo Muñoz,  i4Health, Eduardo Bunge, CAPT Children and Adolescents Psychotherapy and Technologies) Lab and BITs Student Group
