Yeh Scholars of the Calvin Society

Palo Alto University is pleased to introduce The Yeh Scholars of the Calvin Society, a scholarship program established by Mr. Tom Yeh and Mrs. Jennifer Yeh.  The Yehs are friends and longtime supporters of Palo Alto University.  The scholarship is designed to empower our undergraduate students to think big and to reach their full potential to make a positive and lasting difference in the world.  The Yehs are committed to mentoring the scholarship recipients to help them be successful. 

The purpose of the Yeh Scholars of the Calvin Society is to support one senior student in the undergraduate program toward their goals, and to ultimately create a legacy of Yeh scholars who support each other and give back to their communities. 

Award Amount: $10,000 (undergraduate entering senior year, applied directly to PAU tuition and fees; one time scholarship).

Selection Criteria:

·       The student must be a senior in the 2017-2018 academic year in one of the PAU Bachelor degree programs.

·       The student must embody the character of a future leader who is committed to serving humanity by bettering the quality of life for all. 

·       The student will have the following characteristics: Integrity, Humility, Strategic Thinking and Planning, Focus, Cooperation, Courage and Leadership.

Scholarship Recipients Responsibilities:

·       Acknowledge the Yeh Family with a Thank You letter or card.

·       Yeh Society Scholars will meet with the Yehs to benefit from the mentorship and guidance that the sponsors have to offer, and they agree to attend an annual reunion meeting with other Yeh Society Scholars in order to foster a sense of community and to strategize about other ways to assist Palo Alto University and Palo Alto University students.

·       Yeh Society Scholars must commit to giving back and helping others when they are able.

How to Apply:

Please submit a personal statement with your name and program, that is 2 pages minimum, double-spaced, 12-point font that responds to the following points:

o   Short description of your background

o   How do you demonstrate the qualities of a leader and the desired characteristics for a recipient?

o   What kind of difference do you want to make in your community? 

o   How do you plan to serve others and create a better community in the future?


Applications are due by Wednesday, May 31, 2017.

Applicants will be notified by Friday, June 30, 2017.
