ABD Veteran Scholarship


The A.B.D. Scholarship supports students who have served in the Armed Services or dependents of veterans who have decided to embark upon the journey of higher education.

The purpose of the A.B.D. Scholarship is to award a veteran or dependent of a veteran who has a strong desire to give back to the veteran community to either work personally with veterans or create a non-profit meeting the needs of veterans.


  • Applicant, or someone in their family, has served in armed forces.
  • Applicant demonstrates academic promise, and submits a well-written personal statement.
  • Applicant plans to give back to the veteran community.
  • In order to be eligible to receive this scholarship, all tuition and fees must be paid for either by the student, or through arrangements made with the Financial Aid Office.
  • This award is for students who will be second-year students or beyond.  Eligible students must apply at the end of their first year at PAU at the earliest. 

Award Amount

$2,000 (awarded through the student’s account as tuition remission)

How to Apply

 Applicants, please submit a two-page personal statement answering the questions below:

  • Short description of your background – what is your (or your family member’s) military service background?
  • What is your future aspiration – what are your short-term and long-term career goals and how will your degree from Palo Alto University specifically help you achieve these goals?
  • Who or what inspired you to pursue this degree?
  • How do you plan to serve others and create a better community in the future?
  • Applications due by April 15, near the end of your first year at PAU
