Important immigration updates

Please read these two important updates:
1. President Trump has announced plans to implement an 'immigration ban' executive order. At this point we don't know what the specifics will be. As soon as details are released, I will send out another update. Please know that since F-1 students are considered 'non-immigrant', this executive order will not negatively affect your current status! An immigration attorney I trust writes: "the ban is unlikely to affect applications filed here - although we cannot be sure, we hope to continue to be able to file temporary visa extensions, changes of status and green card applications. There will likely be court challenges and continued uncertainty for the next months".
2. If you have received a stimulus check from the government, usually in the amount of $600 or $1200 or if you receive one in the coming weeks, please contact me! You may need to return the check to the IRS, depending on whether you filed taxes as a non-resident or resident (depending on the length of time you have lived in the U.S.).
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
