Student Identification Cards

Palo Alto University Student ID cards for doctoral and undergraduate students are distributed a few weeks after new student orientation. A staff member from Student Affairs will be at the program orientations to take your photo for the ID. 

For students in master's programs, please submit a jpg photo image to Please follow the photo specifications below.

If your PAU ID card is lost or stolen and you need a replacement, please email Please follow the photo specifications below. 


When emailing in your photo, please double check that you are including:

-Full name

-Student ID #

-Cohort/ Program 

Student ID Specifications 

**Your PAU Student ID Card will be mailed to the mailing address listed on the same webpage where your student ID number can be found. Please provide your current mailing address if it is different from what is listed on file.





1. The jpg image you send MUST be smaller than 300K.


2. It MUST be a color photo. No black and white photos. No edited or filtered photos.


3. It MUST be a photo of your head or face ONLY.

No full-body images, profiles, or group images.

Your face must make up at least 65% of the image.


4. Image must be professional and appropriate for a university ID. Consider your wardrobe and surroundings; solid color apparel works best, against a solid, plain background with indoor, daytime lighting. Please do not wear sunglasses, hats, or baseball caps.


5. Please identify your image by changing the file name to your First and Last name before sending.
