Office of Professional Advising and Development (OPAD)

The Office of Professional Advising and Development (OPAD) provides mentoring and clinical placement services to the Ph.D. Clinical Psychology program students.

During the Ph.D. Clinical Psychology program, students are required to complete clinical practicum training and a capstone 2,000 hour internship. To support the success of the Ph.D. Clinical Psychology students, OPAD provides:

  • Close faculty advising for students applying to practicum and internship
  • Mentoring and intensive professional development advising throughout clinical training
  • Review of practicum sites for quality assurance

During ongoing students’ practicum placements, they receive training in the fundamentals of clinical competencies. The OPAD office provides guidance to students to ensure they are placed in an environment that fits their training and career goals.
