Registration, Records and Academic Course Evaluator

This position will report directly to the Director of Registration and Student Records. The Registration, Records and Academic Course Evaluator will perform a variety of secretarial and administrative functions, which require the ability to learn and apply established policies and practices. The Registration, Records and Academic Course Evaluator will demonstrate excellent organizational and professional communication skills. This person must be able to organize, prioritize and accurately complete projects in a timely manner.

Responsibilities include:

-Entering student data into one of our database, special projects, mail & administrative support

-Audits record activity to ensure compliance and accuracy.

-Answer telephone and provide excellent service to students, staff, and other third parties

-Conduct accurate data entry using Word and the Student Information System

-Works with students, and resolves student registration discrepancies

-Researches information as necessary to respond to inquiries or to address specific student concerns

-Handle possible multiple transactions which may include: address updates, grade changes, transcript and verification - production

-Reviews all existing rules each new academic year to ensure accuracy

-Works with the University Registrar to implement and utilize electronic Degree Audit

-Provide support for records and registration services, including issuing transcripts, answering phones, scanning, grade reporting, etc

-Identifies unmet degree requirements and advises on an ongoing basis with students regarding degree completion plans in according with University policies and procedures

-Creates and implements the prerequisite degree audit areas as related to registration including coordinating part of term courses to facilitate registration and resolves registration errors related to the programming of the degree audit. 

-Performs degree validations (conferrals) and assists in tracking graduates throughout the graduation process

- Keeps track of final stages of the dissertation process

-Perform other duties as assigned by the University Registrar

-Encodes university and degree requirements and provides day-to-day upkeep, processing and documentation of degree program changes

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required, plus 3-5 year experience working in a university setting

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as a team member

Excellent attendance and punctuality, collegial and diplomatic behavior at work, and work performance to the satisfaction of management are essential functions of this position

Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing

Must be flexible in dealing with changes in policies, procedures, organizational structure and issues

Ability to adapt to new and rapidly changing situations.

Ability to multi-task with strong problem solving and time management skills.

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience of full Microsoft Office Suite.
