Biography

Dr. Reed is a licensed clinical psychologist with a specialty in Clinical Neuropsychology. She completed her doctorate at California School of Professional Psychology in 1990 (Alameda). She completed her pre-doctoral training at the S.F. V.A. Medical Center in Neuropsychology and her post-doctoral training at the S.F. V.A.M.C. and S.F. General Hospital in Neuropsychology. She completed training in child therapy and assessment at WestCoast Children’s Center. Prior to returning to school for a doctorate, Dr. Reed obtained a master’s degree in Art Therapy and worked for 7 years in inpatient psychiatric hospitals as an art therapist with adults, young adults and adolescents. Dr. Reed has taught Intellectual Assessment for CSPP, Art Therapy Assessment & Group Dynamics for College of Notre Dame and U.C. Extension in Berkeley.

Dr. Reed worked for a decade at Alta Bates Medical Center in Berkeley as a Clinical Neuropsychologist . Major duties included assessment and therapy for inpatient and outpatient acute rehabilitation, assessments for medical-surgical, inpatient adolescent and geropsych units and the development of an outpatient child and adolescent evaluation program for learning disabilities, ADHD (psychological and neuropsychological evaluations). She worked for seven years as the Director of Project SchoolCare, a school-based mental health program of St. Mary’s Medical Center in S.F., which trained practicum students in child therapy and assessment while providing services to low income and minority children.
