Biography

Dr. Barry is currently serving as Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Neurology with the Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and as the Director of Neuropsychiatry and Individual Psychotherapy Clinics. He received his M.D. from Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn New York and completed postdoctoral and residency training with St. Vincent's Hospital in New York, Springfield Hospital in Massachusetts, and served as Chief Resident with Stanford University Medical Center. He currently serves as Principal Investigator for a multisite study investigating the use of the Vagus Nerve Stimulator for the treatment of refractory depression. Dr. Barry has written numerous journal articles and book chapters and given many invited lectures and presentations on neuropsychiatry and affective disorders. Dr. Barry also reviews for a number of journals including CNS Spectrums, Epilepsy and Behavior and Epilepsia
