Housing Information for PAU Students

Many of our students live in towns that are in close proximity to the main campus (Palo Alto) or the Gronowski Clinic (Los Altos).  These towns include Palo Alto, Los Altos, Mountain View, Redwood City, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Sunnyvale. Some students live in San Francisco, as well.

If you are beginning your first year at PAU and time permits, the best option is to visit PAU and learn first-hand about the cities and towns within the Bay Area so that you find one that is a good fit for you and your family. We suggest that you tour the “mid-Peninsula” in which Palo Alto is situated. Or, you may even want to live in San Francisco which can be anywhere from a 45-minute drive to an hour-drive from the school. The Admissions Office maintains a roommate database for incoming (or current students) and you can learn more about that by contacting admissions@paloaltou.edu.

If you are moving out of an apartment or house or if you are interested in sub-leasing your unit or room, please let the Office of Student Services know. Similarly, if you are in need of housing, let the Office of Student Services know so that we can be of assistance to you.

Because apartments rent very quickly in this area, some complexes will advertise only by posting vacancy signs on their properties. Should you have questions about certain areas, please call Liz Hilt, Vice President of Student Services at (650) 433-3818 or the Admissions Office Staff at (800) 818-6136.

We are pleased to announce that PAU has recently partnered with Places4Students.com, a company that specializes in providing housing listings for post-secondary students.  This service is FREE for students to use to find an apartment or a roommate.  You do not need to register to search the  listings.  We are expecting more local landlords to list their properties when they learn about this service.
