Alinne Barrera, Ph.D.
Dr. Barrera is a bilingual (Spanish/English) licensed clinical psychologist with a specialty in working with immigrant, Spanish-speaking individuals with mood disorders. Her research focuses on designing and testing depression programs for underserved populations. Her most recent work is a prevention of postpartum depression Web-based randomized trial. Dr. Barrera is also working with community providers to design a depression treatment for immigrant women from Latin America. Dr. Barrera earned her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley and received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She completed her predoctoral and postdoctoral training at the University of California, San Francisco and at San Francisco General Hospital. An NIMH Individual National Research Service Award (F32), a Robert Wood Johnson Health Disparities Seed Grant, and a National Cancer Institute Junior Faculty Career Development Award funded her postdoctoral fellowship.
