Every year, Palo Alto University hosts an Alumni Awards Dinner to honor graduates from each program. Awardees are chosen for their dedication and service to the community. This year, four alumni were selected for this prestigious award during the “Engaging Minds, Improving Lives” Alumni Awards Dinner.

Aimee Molina, B.S., was selected to represent the Business Psychology program. After graduating summa cum laude in 2013, Aimee entered into the M.A. in Counseling Psychology program. She currently works as a Facilitator at New View Learning Center, where she teaches domestic violence intervention, anger management, and parenting.

Alicea Ledbetter, B.S., was chosen from the Psychology and Social Action program for her dedication to improving the mental health of first responders.  Alicea has been a police officer for seven years, where in addition to her duties as an officer, she has worked in peer support, crisis intervention, and negotiation. She is currently in graduate school for criminology.

Dr. Janet Negley received an Alumni Award from the Ph.D. Clinical Psychology program. After graduating in 1982, she went on to open a private practice and work as the Center Mental Health Consultant for the San Jose Job Corps. Dr. Negley’s interests include disadvantaged youth, multicultural therapy challenges, and the emerging field of narrative therapies.

The Psy.D. PGSP – Stanford Consortium program selected Dr. Ronald Del Castillo as their 2014 Alumni Awardee. Dr. Castillo completed his pre-doctoral internship at Harvard Medical School and his post-doctoral fellowship at Tufts University. He is in the early stages of developing a non-profit organization which would low-cost mental health care to developing countries.

Palo Alto University would like to congratulate each of the 2014 Alumni Awardees for their accomplishments and wish them continued success in their endeavors to make the world a better place.
