Dear PAU Community:

We want to share with you the documents and processes relevant to our upcoming reaccreditation visit from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). This is the third stage of a 3 stage procedure. The first phase was done in 2005 when we submitted a proposal to WASC for how we intended to carry out our reaccreditation. We adopted 3 themes we felt were important for the institution to focus on: Strategic Planning, Clinical Competencies, and Cultural Competencies. In addition, it is incumbent on the institution to demonstrate it is in compliance with all of WASC’s standards.

In 2007 we submitted a self-study that described the capacity of PAU to realize its plan. We had a team of visiting academics from around the country that read our documents, visited the campus, and talked to representatives from all parts of the PAU community. They wrote a report and the WASC Commission considered all that information as part of their decision to allow us to proceed to stage 3.

Stage 3 involves another self-study and visit from the site visit team. They will be on campus March 8-10, 2010. Please review the documents available in MyPAU to familiarize yourself with our WASC materials. We welcome your participation in the process and look forward to broad participation of the PAU community in the site visit. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
William J. Froming, Ph. D.

Dear Members of the PAU Community,

I invite you to read the Winter, 2010 Issue of the Cohort, the Student Services Newsletter, attached to this e-mail.  In addition to contributing to the science and practice of psychology, PAU students support their communities in admirable ways.

Thank you to our students who contributed articles to the Cohort.  I would also like to acknowledge our esteemed faculty members who support our students’ academic and professional accomplishments.

Warm regards,

Dear PAU community,

The attached document is the fall edition of SECA's Dialogues newsletter. It features some fun and thought-provoking pieces, including one student's perspective on what SECA has to offer, a report of a student's experience at the cultural competence mental health summit and more! Please take a look at what has been going on in our community. As always we welcome your comments and future submissions!

Best,
Leighna Harrison
